Start with the materials
A car contains painted panels, glass, plastics, fabrics and sometimes leather or specialist finishes. One cleaner rarely suits every surface. Read the vehicle care instructions and product label; keep protective coatings and sensitive finishes in mind before applying anything new.
Choose a manageable routine
Separate loose debris removal, washing and interior care. Work somewhere permitted with an appropriate way to handle water and waste. A compact kit that gets used carefully is more useful than a cupboard of products with overlapping jobs.
Protect visibility and controls
Keep glass clear and avoid leaving slippery residue on pedals, steering controls or mats. Do not spray liquids into electronics or ventilation openings. If a product affects visibility, surface grip or a safety component, stop and follow the manufacturer’s advice.
Store it properly
Keep chemicals in their labelled containers and out of reach of children and pets. Launder or replace cloths according to their instructions, and separate dirty exterior cloths from interior ones. Record what worked on which material so next time is simpler.
